Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One

On Tuesday 23rd Novermber I went to watch Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One. This is my favourite of the Harry Potter films, now I'm going to give you all the info you need. Be warned, this review is not for the faint hearted!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One is an exciting, thrilling, nail-biting adventure. Harry and his friends get saved by a House Elf! Daniel Radcliffe wears a bra! The saddest part of the film was when Bellatrix Lestrange murders House Elf:Dobby.
I think this film is unsutable for children under the age of eight years old. It includes: scary scenes, phrases such as "bloody hell", snogging, fantasy and non-fantasy violence. There is also a scene of Hermione being tortured.
I highly reccomend you watch Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One this winter!

Christmas at Liverpool One

On Wednesday 10th November I went to Liverpool One to celebrate Christmas a month early.
When we got there the thing that caught my eye was a ride called the North Star. The North Star ride is a massive pole that sticks about 250 meters into the air. It has ropes on it that hold seats. Once you’ve got on, there’s no going back. When the ride starts the seats start to spin round and you just go higher and higher and higher. You’re up there for about 10 hours as well. If you’re going to fall off anything, it’s going to be that.
Next thing we did was a ride were you pick up an inflatable ring, go up to the top of the slide. When you get to the top of the slide you get pushed down very hard. You get two goes for £2.50 which is worth it.
After my two goes I went to the climbing wall which is £3.00 for about 10 minutes. I paid (or my mum paid) and went on. Considering I am nine years old I was very good. I got about three quarters of the way up until I fell. Then again and again and again.
Finally I got off the climbing wall and we went ice skating. I got it for free but normally it’d be £4.00 for children and £7.50 for adults. It was probably one of the best things I’ve done in my life!
I highly recommend this, this Christmas.

Viva Brazil

On Sunday 3rd October I went to Viva Brazil. It is a Brazilian restaurant on Castle Street, Liverpool.

There is a set price and you get to eat all you want - £9.95 for people under 10.

There’s a salad bar including: mashed potato, new potatoes, olives and brocolli with cheese and lots of different spicy stews.

When we went over to the salad bar, I had a huge leaf of lettuce, olives and mashed potato. My favourite of these foods was the mashed potato. It had no bits in and had a lovely texture.

When we got back to the table we found some coloured cards there. On one side of the card it said ‘no thanks’ in red writing. On the other side it said ‘yes please’ in green writing.

Now, normally a waiter will pass by with some meats, it could be lamb, chicken, pork or ham (I also ate a chicken's heart which was, surprisingly, quit nice). If he/she passes with a meat you like and that you want to eat, you flip your card over to ‘yes please’, if not you keep it on ‘no thanks’.

The first meat we had was lamb, it was very tender. The next was chicken wings, they were alright but could be better. We also had pork and ham, the ham was my favourite meat of all. It had a really nice meaty flavour.

After I’d had enough meats, I went to get some chocolate cake. It wasn’t the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had and the icing wasn’t very good. But hey, coconut isn't my thing!

Shrek Forever After

On Wednesday 21st July I went to see the last of the Shrek films:"Shrek Forever After".
This movie is a great way to start the summer hols. In my opinion, highlight of the month. This film was amusing, funny and very exciting (escpecially for children). If you're going to watch anything this month, watch Shrek!

THE ECHO ARENA WHEEL

Conaill Corner points out what is wrong, and what is right with the new big wheel.

ON Thursday 25th March me and my family went on the Liverpool wheel opening.

First we helped ourselves to burgers, then a mini portion of fish and chips which were very impressive.

After that, we saw a few speeches.

Finally, it’s time to go on the wheel! Soon we are ready to go.

When we set off, my brother said: ‘We are going round five times.’ Was he right? The answer is … no.

Sadly we went round eight times (make that eight thousand times) which seems about half an hour which is when you really do get bored, even the commentary wasn’t enough!

Then after a flippin’ long time, fireworks appeared in the sky (WARNING! YOU WON’T GET FIREWORKS WHEN YOU GO ON THE WHEEL!)

The fireworks were good for a while but then I got bored of them too.

Hooray! We’ve stopped! Goodbye ECHO Arena wheel.
